Along the short Guanxi Shidianzi Old Street, a few unique small shops are tucked away, and 'Da Zi Zai Studio' is one of them. Here, they sell a variety of plant-dyed handmade products, and also offer interesting plant-dyeing workshop experiences such as indigo dyeing, pigment dyeing, and leaf/flower transfer dyeing. Stepping into the studio, the space, constructed with woodwork and wooden furniture, exudes a warm atmosphere and a strong rustic charm. All the plant-dyed products in the store are made from natural materials. Taking scarves as an example, there are indigo-dyed scarves of different materials, ginger lily-dyed scarves, unique leaf/flower transfer-dyed scarves, and more. The interplay of materials and dyeing techniques creates different visual effects, making each piece unique. In addition, the store also offers a wide variety of bag styles with corresponding dyeing techniques. For instance, the limited-edition coffee burlap bags are made from raw coffee bean burlap sacks. These burlap sacks undergo time-consuming and labor-intensive pretreatment processes such as washing and boiling to remove dirt and their rough texture. Paired with indigo dyeing and leaf/flower transfer dyeing techniques, they are not only distinctive but also very environmentally friendly. In addition to selling plant-dyed products, Da Zi Zai Studio currently offers three types of experience workshops: 'Rust Yam Juice Dye Painting,' 'Indigo Dyeing,' and 'Leaf/Flower Transfer Dyeing.' Pricing varies based on fabric material and size, with experience prices ranging from NT$250 to NT$1,200 (by appointment only), making it very suitable for families to visit together.
