Huwei Sugar Mill

The Huwei Sugar Mill is the significant origin of Huwei Township, promoting its development and earning Huwei the nickname 'Sugar City'. It is also one of only two sugar mills in Taiwan that still produce sugar, and currently the sole one that continues to use narrow-gauge trains to transport sugarcane. With a history spanning over a hundred years since 1907, its enduring presence to this day highlights its crucial importance to Huwei's development.
