Lion Park

Lion Park, located at No. 11 Sunan Road, Su'ao Township, Yilan County, is situated halfway up a small hill in Su'ao. It was formerly part of Sunan Road, an important branch line leading to Nanfang'ao, and was originally one of the starting points of the Suhua Highway. Following the construction of new roads in the port area, it gradually transformed into a recreational walking trail. The park was built in 1985 (the 74th year of the Republic) and is a landmark leisure park jointly funded and created by the Su'ao Lions Club and the Kitakyushu Higashi International Lions Club of Japan. Its most distinctive feature is the majestic lion statue, made of reinforced concrete, at the top of the small hill, symbolizing the exchange and friendship between the Lions Club and the local community.
