Shichao Recreational Agriculture Area

The 'Shichao Recreational Agriculture Area', located in Shichao Village, Jiaoxi Township, spans nearly 300 hectares. The area is rich in agricultural and fishery resources, comprising 138 hectares of farmland, 101 hectares of fish ponds, 6 hectares of marshland, and 5 hectares of abandoned fish ponds. The terrain is low-lying with numerous rivers and ditches, and both large and small rivers are equipped with sluice gates, a distinctive feature of this region. Because the riverbanks within the area have not been urbanized, the ecology remains pristine and natural, with intact vegetation. Situated in a tidal river section where saltwater and freshwater converge, it is home to over 20 species of fish, shrimp, and shellfish. It also serves as a wintering habitat for numerous waterfowl, making it an excellent bird-watching location. Records indicate that 178 species have been observed here, including rare visitors such as the Black-faced Spoonbill, White Stork, White-necked Stork, and Greater White-fronted Goose!
