Visitor Essentials

The site of the Zhongxing Cultural and Creative Park was originally "Taiwan Chung Hsing Paper Co., Ltd." Its predecessor was "Taiwan Kogyo Co., Ltd.", established in Showa 10 (1935). During the Japanese colonial period, its papermaking technology began with recycling sugarcane bagasse and producing pulp from miscanthus. Later, it also used chemical industry processes to produce white paper. The paper mill primarily produced newsprint, and also manufactured various cultural and industrial papers, such as newspapers, toilet paper, and woodfree paper. At that time, it was not only the largest paper factory in Taiwan, but its production volume was even the highest in Southeast Asia!
