Checheng Train Station, hailed as "Taiwan's most beautiful station," is located in Shuili Township, Nantou County, and serves as the final stop on the TRA Jiji Line. The surrounding area boasts scenic mountain and lake views and a wealth of tourist attractions. Its expansive grounds are ideal for family outings and picnics on holidays, and on clear days, visitors can even see the high dam of Mingtan Reservoir in the distance. Checheng Train Station was originally built during the Japanese colonial period and was reconstructed with original timber after the 921 earthquake, not only restoring its historical charm but also imbuing the entire space with the aroma of wood. The station also sells traditional hard-copy tickets, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The large "Grassy Railway Exhibition Area" next to the station transports visitors back to the old railway scenes of the past, offering a rare glimpse of signal towers and freight cars. "Hand-cranked rail bikes" allow both adults and children to have fun and experience the joy of manual operation. The bright and playful "painted train" provides a perfect spot for visitors to take photos and check in.
