Originally warehouses No. 3-5 of Hsinchu Station, built by Taiwan Railways in 1941. They were registered as historical buildings in 2015, featuring a strong Japanese architectural style. By transforming abandoned corners of an idle space and integrating the memories of the old warehouses, it has created a contemporary art and cultural space with significant modern relevance. The Hsinchu City Government established the "Railway Art Village" in 2001, and it opened to the public after renovations in 2004. Over the past decade, it has fostered more than a hundred outstanding resident artists. The venue is divided into areas such as a large exhibition hall, a small shop, a train-watching platform, multi-functional classrooms, resident artist studios, and a parent-child reading area.
