Located across from Hsinchu Zoo, on the shores of Lichi Lake, stands the Lakeside Pavilion. During the Japanese colonial period, it served as a banquet hall where Japanese officials entertained high-ranking civil servants, generals, and wealthy merchants. After 1950, it ceased to be an exclusive club and was instead used to house single pilots. It was later converted into an air force dependents' village and renamed 'Air Force Village Eleven'. The Lichi Garden was reopened in September 2018, restoring its Japanese garden architectural style and landscape. A waterfall and stream were created using the source of Lichi Lake, resulting in a garden landscape that reflects the four seasons.
