Changhe Park has not undergone large-scale renovation since its completion in 1992 (Republic of China year 81). Near the park are Hsinchu's famous Wai Mazu Temple, 'Changhe Temple,' and many popular snack vendors, making it an ideal place for local residents to socialize and gather. The large banyan tree within the park is a very important local symbol for Changhe Park. The design team established the 'Banyan Tree Square' and added trellised gazebos, seating, a jogging track around the park, and sports facilities like a basketball court, creating an 'all-ages living circle.'
