Remains of one of the important battles after the ROC government retreated to Taiwan, commemorating all the officers and soldiers who fought valiantly! Yijiangshan is a small island off the coast of Zhejiang. In ROC Year 38 (1949), after the ROC government relocated to Taiwan, it hoped to control Kinmen, Matsu, and Dachen Island and Yijiangshan off the coast of Zhejiang for strategic considerations, with the aim of eventually launching a counterattack on the mainland. On January 18, ROC Year 44 (1955), the Chinese Communist Party launched a large-scale attack on Yijiangshan. After over sixty hours, the garrison commander detonated a grenade to commit suicide, and all stationed officers and soldiers were killed in action. The battle was tragic. Site Construction: Monument erected: September, ROC Year 45 (1956).
