Gangping Sports Park

A place for extreme sports suitable for the whole family! Officially named the "Municipal Sports Park," Gangping Sports Park is also known by its location in Gangping Village. Since its establishment, the park has seen high usage. It covers an area of 85,000 square meters and can accommodate 3,200 people. Following renovation and planning, the venue now features tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, a roller skating rink, children's playgrounds, and more. New facilities include an extreme sports arena, a parking lot with 120 spaces, a woodball court, and a gateball court. The new extreme sports arena's facilities comprise standing platforms, sliding platforms, ramps, half-pipe ramps, stairways, and curved tracks. A significant feature is the "extreme sports facilities." Former Mayor Chen Li-chen specifically commissioned their construction to cater to young people's love for inline skating. However, for safety and broad accessibility, facilities such as the sliding platforms and curved tracks were designed with general difficulty in mind. During construction, thorough coordination and discussion with architects ensured the overall safety and prevented the new extreme sports facilities from being overly professional or difficult, which would limit their use to only a few expert athletes. All facilities prioritize general use and low difficulty. This thoughtful design has also positioned Gangping Sports Park as one of Taiwan's most suitable destinations for inline skating.
