The century-old banyan tree in Liucuo Village, Chiayi City, is estimated to be around 200 years old. Located near the Liucuo Village Public Cemetery, it is respectfully known as "Wanlinggong" (God of Ten Thousand Spirits) or the "Old Bird Banyan". Its natural shape vaguely resembles a large umbrella. Currently, the Wanlinggong Temple thrives with continuous incense offerings, and worshippers come in an endless stream, believing their prayers will be answered. In the winter of 1977 (ROC year 66), the Wanlinggong Temple Management Committee was established, with Mr. Chen Jin-zhong serving as its chairman. The committee actively raised funds, tidied the surrounding environment, and re-planned the facilities. These include an octagonal pavilion, a fish pond, the Changchun Club, and paved asphalt roads. Volunteers also provide maintenance services, revitalizing the old banyan's surroundings. During an inspection, former Mayor Ms. Chang Po-ya bestowed upon it the title "King of Zhuluo Bird Banyans". The King of Zhuluo Bird Banyans is truly magnificent, with a canopy area spanning over a thousand square meters. Its lateral branches stand strong and upright, with straight branches supporting the main trunk as it continues to grow outwards. Under the diligent care of the government and local residents, it has flourished, creating a cool, shaded area. Furthermore, it offers play equipment suitable for children, making it an excellent spot for all ages.
