Pizihtou Botanical Garden

Pizihtou Botanical Garden is a venue serving four major functions: leisure, recreation, education, and research. Located near the Cultural Center, it was established in Meiji 41 (1908). At that time, it served as a production and experimental site for rubber saplings, along with Shanzihting Botanical Garden. Pizihtou is situated on flat land, in contrast to Shanzihting's hilly terrain, allowing both locations to simultaneously conduct differentiated forestry experiments. Later, it was repurposed for tropical and subtropical afforestation experiments. With the changing times, it evolved into a place for cultivating afforestation tree species and landscaping seedlings. The botanical garden currently features plant zones for shrubs, vines, fragrant flowers, bamboo, and lawns, as well as an urban multi-story forest landscape area, all available for leisure, recreation, education, and research by the public and scholars.
