Visitor Essentials

Dajia Wharf is located on the left bank of the Keelung River at Yuanshan. Yuanshan was formerly known as Yuanzai Mountain and is considered the 'dragon's head' in the Dalongdong topography. Due to the Keelung River flowing through, it was once a lagoon area where seawater flowed in and out. The excavated Yuanshan Site and shell mounds prove where early settlers lived. Right next to Yuanshan is Jiantan, named after Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong), who reportedly inserted his sword into the pond to draw water. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese built the Taiwan Shrine and the Imperial Outer Garden next to the present-day Yuanshan Hotel, west of the Martyrs' Shrine, demonstrating the importance of its geographical location. Dajia Wharf is located on the south bank of the Keelung River, approximately 200 meters west of Dazhi Bridge. This is a yacht pier for the 'Blue Highway', offering two round-trip routes: Dajia to Yuanshan, and Dajia to Neihu Science Park.
