The Keelung River gently embraces Shezi Island, carving a graceful arc before merging into the Tamsui River. On its northern bank, west of Huanggang Creek, this land is a precious pastoral oasis amidst bustling Taipei. Here, rice paddies sway in the wind, extending all the way to the mangrove reserve at the river mouth, like a green corridor that isolates the city's hustle and bustle. Cycling through it is the best way to experience the simplicity and freedom of early rural life. When the afterglow of the sunset falls, stroll along the embankment as the evening breeze gently brushes, birds chirp, and the vibrant life of Guandu Nature Park in the distance comes into full view, weaving together a leisurely tapestry full of wild charm and romance. The cycling path here is an open route, starting from Guandu Temple in the west, heading east along the flood embankment, then turning north after Baxian Fude Temple, traversing the vast Guandu Plain, all the way to Zhongyang North Road in Beitou. The path ends at Daoxiang Road, west of Fu Hsing Kang College. For visitors unable to bring their own bicycles, Guandu Temple makes a convenient starting point. It's close to the MRT station, making it very convenient to rent bicycles or tandem bikes. Over time, the river embankment in front of the temple has transformed into a flat pedestrian path, and the fishing boats originally moored in Zhonggang River have moved to the Tamsui River, presenting another kind of open and refreshing waterfront scenery.
