Visitor Essentials
After getting off at Wende Station on the Dahu MRT Line, turn into Lane 101, Wende Road, and proceed about 200 meters. You will then see Dahu Lake surrounded by lush green mountains—this is Bihu Park. Bihu Park is located at No. 175, Section 2, Neihu Road, Neihu District, Taipei City, adjacent to the National Taiwan College of Performing Arts. Covering an area of over 13 hectares, the "Dapi Lake" within the park spans approximately 8 hectares and was formerly a source of agricultural irrigation water. Nestled in the Neihu District, Bihu Park is not only the backyard garden for Neihu residents but also one of only two waterscape parks in Taipei City with a large lake. The park is situated by mountains and water, boasting an environment of layered green hills with the lake extending gracefully before it, blending seamlessly with the park scenery. Its serene beauty often leaves a deep impression on visitors. Since its establishment in 1987, improvements have progressively been made, including landscaping the eastern green areas by the lake, adding Chinese-style pavilions, a Nine-Bend Bridge, and a lakeside promenade. The lakeside is also planted with various ornamental plants such as Chinese fringetree, willows, bald cypress, paperbark trees, golden shower trees, flamboyant trees, hibiscus, azaleas, and pentas. In spring and summer, colorful butterflies flutter about, and the lakeside scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. The park features a management center (colloquially known as the "Little White House") with a reading room on the first floor available for public use. It also has a children's playground, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. Fishing areas are designated along the lakeshore, allowing visitors to enjoy recreational activities such as fishing in addition to sightseeing. Furthermore, there are 6 hiking trails; climbing the steps, dense foliage provides shade, pavilions are nestled among the trees, and the environment is serene. From the mountaintop, Bihu's beautiful scenery unfolds before your eyes. It is truly an ideal place for public recreation, mountain climbing, and relaxation for both body and mind.
