Tucked away in the bustling alleys of Linsen North Road in Taipei City is a tranquil corner where time seems to stand still – the Pu Tiansheng Sculpture Memorial Museum. This building is a Japanese-style wooden former residence over eighty years old, which served as the home and creative sanctuary of Pu Tiansheng, a pioneer of modern Taiwanese sculpture, in his later years. It preserves the most authentic details of the artist's life and his creative spirit. The most precious core of the Pu Tiansheng Sculpture Memorial Museum is undoubtedly the dedicated studio, personally designed and supervised by Master Pu Tiansheng and crafted from premium cypress wood. When sunlight streams into this cypress-scented space, visitors feel as if they can travel through time, experiencing the atmosphere of the master holding his carving knife, deeply engrossed in creation. The museum is divided into an outdoor sculpture garden, a works exhibition hall, an art corridor, and a cultural relics display room, fully showcasing Pu Tiansheng's lifelong sculptural achievements, which span classical realism and humanitarian concern. Unlike typical large art museums, this venue offers a more intimate experience, closer to the artist's soul. Visitors don't just view the artworks; they feel as if they are guests invited into the artist's home. It is now open to the public, offering guided educational tours and providing citizens with a space to appreciate art.
