Expansive grasslands undulate along the mountain ridges, and wooden boardwalks weave through the lush greenery. Qingtian Gang is one of Yangmingshan National Park's most iconic grassland landscapes. Situated amidst the Datun Volcano Group peaks, its terrain is flat and vast. On clear days, visitors can gaze upon the surrounding mountains and the greater Taipei area, offering a rare open vista for a mountain city suburb. Qingtian Gang's topography originated from the terraces formed by Zhugao Mountain's lava. In the past, it was closely associated with activities like ranching, grazing, and fostering cattle, making grasslands and water buffaloes distinctive landscape memories of this place. Today, a visit to Qingtian Gang is not merely a stroll in the mountains; it's also an opportunity to experience the intertwined story of Yangmingshan's nature and industrial evolution through its grassland landscape and cultural context. Qingtian Gang boasts distinct charm in each of its four seasons. In spring and summer, the grassy slopes are vibrant green, and visitors can observe butterflies, birds, and grassland plants along the trails. In autumn, swaying silvergrass and Taiwan aster adorn the mountain paths, and the rolling grasslands bathed in the sunset are one of travelers' most beloved sights. Winter brings noticeable changes in mist and mountain winds, revealing another tranquil and captivating side of the highland grasslands. Visitors can start from the Qingtian Gang Visitor Center and leisurely walk along the grassland trail, admiring the classic scenery composed of continuous grassy slopes, wooden fences, and mountain ridges. The entrance landmark, trail turns, and elevated viewpoints are all excellent spots for photographing the grassland scenery. Should you encounter water buffaloes, please maintain a safe distance, refrain from feeding or touching them, and collectively help preserve the natural environment and recreational safety.
