Visitor Essentials

The NTU College of Law, located on Xuzhou Road, was formerly the campus building of the Taipei Higher School of Commerce during the Japanese colonial period. Its architectural style is an exquisite Western classical design. The main gate is constructed from sandstone produced in Taipei, topped with copper lamps, giving it an antique and rustic appearance. The plaza inside the gate still retains a pond and a garden. The administrative building, in contrast, features a magnificent Baroque style. From the front of the building, one can see elegant Greek columns and semi-circular arch designs. The roof is covered with Japanese black tiles, a blend of Chinese and Western creativity and ingenuity that possesses a unique aesthetic. Indoors, the auditorium has a large span, and many of the rostrum and seats are original, which is extremely valuable. Additionally, the layout resembles a traditional siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard), with a central atrium. The atrium and campus are lush with greenery, where flowers, plants, and ponds reflect each other, forming a serene and elegant picture that is worth preserving and cherishing.
