Taipei Arena is located at the intersection of Dunhua North Road and Nanjing East Road Section 4 in Songshan District. Its predecessor was the Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium. At the end of 2000, the Taipei City Government demolished the old stadium and constructed a 15,000-seat multi-purpose arena at the original site. Taipei Arena is a vital indoor venue facility within Taipei City's overall sports facility planning and construction project. The complex comprises a main arena and a sub-arena. The main arena is a reinforced concrete building with two underground levels and five above-ground levels, spanning a total floor area of approximately 90,900 square meters. The main venue measures 76 meters in length and 41.5 meters in width. When the retractable seating is fully extended, the usable area remains 60 meters × 29.5 meters. The center of the venue can also be completely frozen as needed, transforming it into a standard indoor ice sports competition arena. The venue's flexible and diverse usage allows it to host first-tier events for international single-sport federations, and it is also a popular choice for both domestic and international arts and cultural groups to rent for performances and exhibitions. Taipei Arena Iceland is currently Taiwan's largest ice rink that meets international standards, measuring 61 meters × 30 meters. The ice surface can accommodate up to 400 skaters, and the spectator stands have a capacity of 800 seats. In addition to providing recreational skating for general visitors, it also serves as a professional training ground for domestic elite skaters and national team athletes. This venue boasts Winter Olympic-grade standard ice surface quality and has been recognized by experts, including executive committee members and presidents of the International Skating Union (ISU) and the Asian Skating Union (ASU). Professional equipment within the venue includes: international standard ice hockey dasher boards, short track speed skating crash mats, professional ice resurfacers, aerial protective netting for ice hockey games, two standard ice hockey goals, and ice-surface teaching barriers. Since its opening, it has hosted numerous important international and domestic ice sports competitions. Furthermore, Taipei Arena also features over 6,600 square meters (approximately 2,000 ping) of ancillary commercial facilities, including renowned chain restaurants, convenience stores, fitness centers, parent-child leisure centers, health product stores, and various other distinctive shops, meeting the public's needs for comfortable dining, shopping, and entertainment.
