Visitor Essentials

Nangang Park was established in 1987 (Republic of China Year 76). It covers an area of approximately 11.8 hectares. The park's terrain features mountains and water, with architecture rich in Chinese style, and a magnificent Chinese archway at its entrance. The park is located at the intersection of Dongxin Street and Chengfu Road. It borders the Combined Logistics Command to the north and Nangang Public Housing to the south. Looking east, one can see the Four Beasts Mountains in Xinyi District, offering a vast panoramic view. It is Nangang District's largest scenic park, featuring a natural pond. The pond within the park is Hòushānpí (Back Mountain Pond), which historically comprised two large ponds. With the decline of Nangang's agriculture and the establishment of Nangang Park and Nangang Public Housing, parts of Hòushānpí were filled in. Today, it forms a U-shaped retention pond surrounding a small hill, maintaining its functions of flood control and water level regulation. The park boasts diverse plant species. Tall trees include banyan trees, bishopwood, Acer-leaf sterculia, and acacia. Around the pond, there are sea mango and willow trees. Near the music stage and parking lot, there are several species of trees such as elephant apple and traveler's palm. These are complemented by flowering or colorful foliage shrubs like ixora, firecracker flower, azalea, rose apple, red bamboo, and croton, making the park's flora rich and varied, displaying a diverse landscape. After walking around the lake on the trail, visitors can also take their children to the Nangang Park Forest Adventure Children's Playground. Designed to blend with the natural environment and terrain, the playground features facilities such as a dual zip line, roller slides, and a sandpit, allowing children to play and challenge their physical abilities.
