The Shun Ye Museum of Taiwan Indigenous Peoples - Art Branch (hereinafter referred to as Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum) officially opened on June 10, 2020. This art museum, located in the heart of the city, can be said to be another important milestone in the Lin Nai-Wong Cultural and Educational Foundation's journey to promote Taiwanese art and culture. Situated near Taipei City's Beimen Plaza, at its current address of No. 5 Yanping South Road, the Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum was formerly the "founding home" of the Shun Ye Group — "Shun Ye Company". Under the vision of Chairman Lin Chun-Chi, this 74-year-old historic building has been transformed into a brand new art museum. The Shun Ye Group's spirit of pursuing excellence will also radiate greater cultural energy to society through the operation of the museum. Mr. Lin Ching-Fu, the honorary chairman and founder of Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum, loves his homeland and cherishes Taiwan. Since the 1970s, he has successively collected numerous artifacts of Taiwan's indigenous peoples and local art paintings. In addition to showcasing the magnificent paintings donated from Honorary Chairman Lin Ching-Fu's collection, Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum also organizes special exhibitions based on various themes, inviting curators and young artists from Taiwan and abroad to participate, thereby achieving the goal of promoting Taiwanese culture. Regarding educational outreach activities, the museum actively connects with elementary and middle schools at all levels by focusing on diverse aspects such as "local culture and humanity," "innovative culture," and "diverse arts," hoping to establish aesthetic education as the foundation for children to learn about Taiwanese art. At the same time, Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum also encourages academic exchange and practical internships, and invites people from different backgrounds to participate in volunteer services, jointly creating a cultural platform for public sharing and exchange. The location of this art museum is a key area for the creation of Taipei City's old street landscape, and it is also part of the convergence zone surrounding Taipei City's Beimen Golden Arts and Culture District and Taipei Main Station, serving as the primary gateway and first impression for domestic and international visitors arriving in Taipei. As a starting point for guiding visitors to discover Taipei, Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum integrates diverse aspects of the city's trendy culture and the historical charm of its old streets, including history, humanities, technology, and interaction, into its blueprint, hoping that this museum can become an important clue for people in understanding the city's fabric and imprints. The museum is surrounded by numerous cultural heritage sites, such as the Futai Street Mansion, Zhongshan Hall, the National Taiwan Museum Railway Department Park, and the Postal Museum. In the future, Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum will also focus on Taiwan's historical memory, promoting cultural resonance within the city through connecting activities with surrounding attractions. In 2020, the birth of Shun Ye Taiwan Art Museum not only added a new landmark to the Beimen Golden Arts and Culture District but also invigorated community cultural exchange with its exquisite and rich artistic content. This charming new arts and cultural space will, in the future, guide the public to witness Taiwan's splendor through classic art masterpieces and inject new vitality, rich in cultural energy, into the city.
