Taichung Lin Family Ancestral Temple

The foundation of the Taichung Lin Family Ancestral Temple was laid in the 8th year of the Taisho era (1919) during Japanese rule, and its construction was fully completed in the 5th year of the Showa era (1930). The entire project took twelve years and was primarily built under the supervision of the renowned master craftsman Chen Ying-Bin from Zhangzhou. With a history of nearly a century to date, its grand layout and exquisite carvings qualify it as a classic and celebrated structure among ancestral temples. The splendid craftsmanship displayed by other artisans, such as in stone carving and painting, further enhances the architectural artistry of the Lin Family Ancestral Temple. Its magnificent scale and architectural layout secure its prominent position among ancestral temples in the central region.
