Zhong'ao Beach

Located on the northeast side of Liuqiu Island, Zhong'ao Beach is one of the island's main natural beaches, perfect for swimming, water activities, sea fishing, and other coastal recreational pursuits. The intertidal and subtidal zones in this area are formed by marine deposits of coral reefs and shell fragments, creating a strip of shell sand beach. On the left side, there's a spacious pavilion offering views of the wind and sea, while the protruding long coastal embankment on the right is a popular spot for anglers. Anglers are often seen carrying fish baskets filled with various marine and tropical fish. In this area, one can observe intertidal creatures such as hermit crabs, gobies, blennies, and shellfish in the tidal pools. Zhong'ao Beach is also one of the most recommended water activity destinations by local residents, as its gently sloping coastline is much safer than other coastlines on Liuqiu Island. The romantic scenery of the clear blue sea and sky attracts a continuous stream of tourists who come to play with their families. In recent years, it has also become an emerging spot for wedding photography. The 'Qing Shui' (welcoming the deities) ceremony of the triennial Wangye Worship Festival for Peace is also held here.
